29 ottobre . . . IQ just keeps dropping . . .Rant time . . .
HOW CAN SOME PEOPLE BE SO STUPID???? DO THEY DO IT ON PURPOSE???? ARE THEY TRYING TO PASS IT ON TO OTHERS LIKE SOME HORRIBLE DISEASE???? (end catharsis)
Seriously now, do some people just not think? I can understand having an off day, I really can. I have them all the time, as most of you know. But even I have my limits from which my IQ does not drop past, even in the most extreme of circumstances.
What caused this little outlash? Well, take a gander at this little dialogue I had with a customer tonight at work:
Customer: Do you have any cookies with the chocolate in them?
Me: Chocolate chip?
Customer: No, the ones with lots of chocolate in them
Me: . . . triple chocolate? No sorry we don't sell those here
Customer: So you don't have any chocolate cookie?
Me: We do, just not the triple chocolate. We have caramel chocolate pecan, chocolate chip and M&M chocolate chip
Customer: So you don't have any with chocolate?
Me: . . . yes . . . we have caramel CHOCOLATE pecan, CHOCOLATE chip and M&M CHOCOLATE chip
Customer: Guess I'll take a chocolate donute then. What kinds of chocolate donuts do you have?
Me: Chocolate glazed, chocolate walnut crunch, chocolate dip, double chocolate, boston cream
Customer: Do you have chocolate supreme?
Me: No, only the ones to told you
Customer: So you don't have any chocolate donuts either?
Me: . . . We do . . . just not chocolate supreme
Customer: Well then, what chocolate ones do you have?
Me: . . . CHOCOLATE glazed, CHOCOLATE walnut crunch, CHOCOLATE dip, double CHOCOLATE, and boston cream which has CHOCOLATE on the top.
Customer: So you don't have any chocolate products at all here?
You can see why I'm a bit . . . . pftttttt, no? I suppose stupidity bugs me so much because I know these people aren't as stupid as they are acting. Most of the time, they aren't doing it to be silly or funny; they're dead serious! Why have you let yourself get to this point? Why do people act like airheads when they really aren't? Why do they act stupid when they really aren't?
How do I know my headset wasn't cutting out, or that she couldn't hear me? One of the other employees was outside doing garbages and could hear the conversation just fine.
Maybe this irritation stems back to the fact that many people I know, who weren't stupid, acted like they were (intentionally) for so long they can no longer help it. They've done it for so long it is natural to them. I'm not saying this is the case with everyone, but when I see people who act this way, it draws on that irritation and . . . disappointment, I guess would be the word. So much potential is just wasted, because they chose to throw it away for what others think is funny.
And for the record, no the girl was not a blond. |
